On Materialism. “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon…..” (Matthew 6:19-24). And: “I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go thorough the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God” (Matthew 19:21-25). Also: “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not consist in the abundance of possessions” (Luke 12:15).
