...to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
Thoughts for Today:How have the Law and the Prophets testified about Jesus?
First, the Law -- at its very center was the tabernacle where bloody sacrifices were offered which pointed toward Jesus.
And second, through the Prophets -- who also witnessed the coming of Christ when they wrote and spoke of His death and resurrection. For example, Isaiah 53:6,10: "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed... Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand."
Paul makes the point crystal clear: both the Law and the Prophets were witnesses to the righteousness God would provide in Jesus Christ.
Questions to Ponder:God has made it plain to all who earnestly seek -- in Jesus Christ we will find His righteousness. Not in ourselves or the Law, but in Jesus. Have you searched? When will you begin? If you do, God promises you will find Him through His Son.
