If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
Thoughts for Today:I recently heard a pastor tell the story about the donation of an above-ground pool to a children's orphanage in Mexico. When the shipping crates arrived, the staff of the orphanage tried their best to assemble the pieces. But they just couldn't figure it out.
A few days later, the somewhat frustrated head of the orphanage received a call. The man on the phone said, "I just feel like the Lord would have me come down there and spend some time. I can't do much, I'm not a Bible teacher or a children's worker. I'm not even a very good cook, but I feel I should come." The leader of the orphanage said, "Well, come on down anyway, and we'll find something for you to do." Then he asked, "So what exactly is your profession?" The man answered, "For the last twenty years I've been installing above-ground pools." Within four hours of his arrival at the orphanage, the children were joyfully swimming.
I could give you hundreds of examples of the way God is prepared, and has prepared us for, Kingdom purposes. So whatever our profession, and regardless of the gifts God has ingrained in us personally, He has a place waiting for us in ministry. And we are all desperately needed in the body. There are no exceptions!
Questions to Ponder:God calls each of us (individually) to His work in progress. We don't need to do anything except answer His call. What was your answer the last time He asked you to join Him? (Isaiah 6:8: "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'")
