...to another miraculous powers...
Thoughts for Today:It is important to realize that when Jesus spoke of (or performed) the miraculous, it was always within the context of an evangelistic activity. In many cases, the event was one of great magnitude. For example (Mark 16:15-18): "He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.'" So if you want to see and experience the miraculous, you should become involved in radical evangelism. That's where you will find them.
I don't think the miracles Jesus speaks of in Mark 16 are intended for believers to experience in the safety of our own Church or Bible study groups. Rather, they are to accompany us as we venture into the jungles of Ecuador, the African plains of Sudan, or the mountains of Nepal. I've found through all my personal experiences -- when we courageously share the Lord -- He will confirm our message with miracles. Just like He said. All we need to do is ask!
Questions to Ponder:It is for the unbeliever that God confirms His Word with signs and wonders. Do you want to see a miracle? Are you connected to evangelism? Are you sharing God's Word with those around you? The Lord will confirm His message of love and salvation. Are you giving Him a chance to demonstrate His power?
