No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons.
Thoughts for Today:I find it interesting that many modern Christians view Satan as a name that is representative of all that is evil. Yet, Scripture tells us something completely different: Satan and his demons are real, despite the fact they have been overcome by Jesus. Clearly, Jesus addressed Satan as a personality, not a principle. For example, Luke 4:4 (KJV): "And Jesus answered him [speaking of Satan], saying, 'It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'"
Deuteronomy 32:17 (KHJ) is one of many Old Testament Scriptures which indicates a sacrifice made to an idol is actually offered to demons: "They sacrificed unto devils [demons], not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not." The point is: Although an idol may by itself be nothing, demonic entities can be connected to an idol. Paul confirms this thought in our passage today with a simple warning: Do not fool around with anyone or anything associated with demons.
Questions to Ponder:In our society Satan hides in plain sight. He disguises himself in seemingly harmless signs and activities. How many Christians read their horoscopes each day? Do you? Paul tells us to be careful of these activities. On the surface they may seem harmless, yet they are connected to demons, not to God. Take a careful look around you. Does a practice or symbol need to be removed Do you have superstitions?
